Dahna’s holistic approach to cello pedagogy initially emphasizes the development of proper body alignment and technique which then fosters effortless tone production, accurate pitch, and musical expression. The lesson curriculum is modified to fit each student’s individual needs.

In addition to weekly private lessons, the students have the opportunity to meet and interact with each other in quarterly group performance classes. Performance opportunities are also available at various venues around the Silicon Valley. Many of the students are members of local youth orchestras such as The Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, the El Camino Youth Symphony, the Peninsula Youth Symphony and the California Youth Symphony. Students also have the opportunity to take part in the the Capriccio Chamber Music Institute which Dahna runs jointly with her colleague Alexander Eisenberg. This unique program offers students the opportunity to perform side-by-side with local professionals. Dahna’s students currently range in age from five years to adult.
